But you will be amazed to know that the idea of ‘Wazir’ came to Vidhu Vinod Chopra somewhere back in the 1980s. And this movie was supposed to be Chopra’s first Hollywood film with Dustin Hoffman in the lead role. But things didn’t work out as planned as their producer Robert Newmyer passed away and the script took five years to complete.
In 2013, Chopra called Bejoy after seeing the black and white portions of his film ‘David’ and asked him to take out some script from the scripts piling up in his cupboard. And Bejoy ended up picking this script, which was originally supposed to be titled as ‘Do’ but was changed to ‘Wazir’ later in October 2014.
Reports say that Farhan Akhtar has gone through intense training and put on eight kilograms of weight for fitting into the role of an Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) officer with a tough look. Aditi Rao Hydari will also be seen playing a crucial role in the film. John Abraham will be seen in a cameo appearance.
With Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar sharing the screen, the movie has to be good. Farhan’s tough look with a moustache and his fearless stunts are likely to grab the audience’s attention. Another attraction of the film ‘Wazir’ is a special song titled ‘Atrangi Yaari’ for which the two fabulous actors Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar have come together. Even the trailer has received a good response which has also increased the hopes of both the audience as well as the cast and crew.
